Timber Supply Chain

Certified Forests:
Putting Nature First

Our supply chain begins in certified forests, where each tree is selected and felled responsibly. We primarily collaborate with suppliers who adhere to strict international standards, ensuring sustainable forest management. This means that every cubic metre of wood we use comes from forests managed to protect biodiversity, include recycled materials, respect the rights of local communities, and minimise environmental impact.

Mozzone BS has also certified its own chain of custody—discover our certifications.

Wood: A Natural and Renewable Material

Once responsibly harvested, the timber undergoes state-of-the-art processing that enhances its natural qualities. Every plank and beam is treated to ensure optimal durability without compromising its ecological characteristics. Our goal is to use wood intelligently, maximising its effectiveness in building structures that are durable and safe, yet lightweight and sustainable.

Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond material selection. Every wood offcut, whether a production remnant or scrap, is valorised in a production cycle that minimises waste. Offcuts are used to produce other materials, such as particle boards, or for energy recycling, further reducing our ecological footprint.

A Sustainable Future for Generations to Come

Our vision focuses on the present, always with an eye to the future.

We firmly believe that true sustainability comes from using renewable materials, such as wood, and creating construction that respects natural cycles. Every project we undertake is designed not only as an investment in quality buildings but also in a greener future, where generations to come can enjoy spaces that respect nature, the climate, and their well-being.

The timber supply chain we follow is one that, step by step, rewrites the rules of the construction sector, making sustainability both a goal and a tangible reality: we aim to build a more conscious, responsible, and sustainable world. And we are doing it today, because we know the future won’t wait.

From Certified Forests
to a Sustainable Future

Our certified forests: a concrete commitment to the environment and the future of the planet.

We own certified forests in France, specifically in the Grand Est region, in Marbéville. These forests are a fundamental element of our sustainability and environmental responsibility strategy. They are managed according to the highest international certification standards. Every tree felled is replaced with new plantations, following strict reforestation and natural regeneration plans to maintain ecological balance and support biodiversity.

Using wood from these certified forests not only ensures a secure and traceable resource supply, but also contributes to reducing CO₂ emissions. Wood is naturally low in environmental impact, as it stores carbon throughout its life cycle. Responsible forest management allows us to ensure that our environmental footprint is minimal, reducing soil erosion, preserving water resources, and promoting the health of surrounding territories.

Furthermore, our forests play a crucial role in combating climate change. Maintaining and expanding these green areas, through sustainable management and planting new species, allows us to actively contribute to a virtuous cycle where timber production integrates with strengthening the natural environment. Certified forest management not only protects our heritage but also fosters the growth of resilient ecosystems that support local flora and fauna.

Our approach goes beyond simple timber sourcing; it reflects a deep commitment to long-term sustainability. Our privately-owned certified forests are a concrete example of how the timber industry can interact harmoniously with nature, providing ecological, social, and economic benefits for future generations.
